As a church we have quite a long history. The church began in 1851, when Mumbles was just a small fishing village outside of Swansea. We are an evangelical Baptist church and as such believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We know from our experience that only through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can anyone find the real joy of sins forgiven and peace with God.

Our Pastor

Mike Leaves, born in Cardiff [and passionately Welsh :-)], trained in London Theological Seminary, married to Jayne with 2 grown up children. Mike's interests include running (in theory at the moment!), science fiction, gardening and walking. Mike has pastoral experience in Westbury, Wiltshire and was assistant to Peter Milsom in Deeside, North Wales.

What we believe

1] There is one God, who exists eternally in 3 distinct but equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

2] God has revealed Himself in the Bible which consists of the Old and New Testaments alone. Every word was inspired by God through human authors, so the Bible as originally given is without error and fully reliable in fact and doctrine

3] All men and women being created in the image of God, have inherent and equal dignity and worth.However as the result of the fall of our first parents, every aspect of human nature has been corrupted and all men and women stand as sinners before God.

4] The Lord Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. On the cross He died in the place of sinners, bearing God's punishment for sin, redeeming them by His blood.

5] Salvation is entirely a work of God's grace and cannot be earned or deserved. It has been accomplished by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to all in the Gospel.

6]The Lord Jesus Christ will return in glory. He will raise the dead and judge the world in righteousness. Believers in the Lord Jesus will be welcomed into a life of eternal joy, in fellowship with God forever.
