Our pastor is the Rev. Mike Leaves, who was born in Cardiff, South. Wales. He trained for the preaching and pastoral ministry at the London Theological Seminary and has had earlier ministerial experience in North Wales and Wiltshire, England. As a church we have quite a long history. The church began in 1851, when Mumbles was just a small fishing village outside of Swansea. We are an evangelical Baptist church and as such believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We know from our experience that only through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ can anyone find the real joy of sins forgiven and peace with God. If you want to know more about the Christian Gospel and receive some free literature then please contact us. Bethany Baptist Church is in the West Cross / Mumbles area of Swansea, South Wales, on the very edge of picturesque Gower. Gower is famous for its dramatic scenery, coastal paths and golden beaches. The church is situated just off the Mumbles road leading into the village of Mumbles and about 100 yards from the beach. Swansea is a historic city with a castle [there is a better one at Mumbles], a marina, Maritime museum and a great leisure centre. Swansea of course is famous for Dylan Thomas the poet. On one occasion Dylan Thomas described the city as that "Ugly, lovely town". Well we think that the ugly has gone out of the city and it is just plain lovely. Mumbles also is worth a visit with its Victorian pier, village shops, and restaurants |
